Our 4th Arduino Jam @timelab has ended. We’re happy to announce that all the teams finished there project just in time. In about 48 hours they all went from idea to working prototype. The outcome was superb AND all projects did work !
- TEAM 1 : Write glow in the dark (Midas, Lukas)
Writing with light on a surface covered with “glow in the dark” paint. This team made an automated laser light that can write any word, using servos an a green pen laser.
- TEAM 2 : We are “Vandalous” (Yannick, Koen, Ziping)
Willing to take over the world, without being noticed, this team designed an automated graffiti CNC machine, able to create graffiti from a bitmap. As thieves in the night, they would hang their machine to a building, coming back in the morning to admire the auto-painted graffiti.
- TEAM 3 : Fountain in a box (Jolien, Jantje, Henri)
With this project the contestants build a mini Las Vegas fountain with moving water beams and light effects, all interacting on the surrounding sounds, Using (obviously) water, servos, LED-lights and water valves.
- TEAM 4 : Bread spread (Joeri, David, Bart)
What would become of the world, if we didn’t have any games. Inspired by the game “Simon Says”, Bread spread is a game where the player has to repeat the sequence of bread spreads shown on a screen, by hitting big wooden buttons in the correct order.
- TEAM 5 : Word clock (Tom, Rogier)
A clock not as we know it. It’s digital, but doesn’t show numbers. It shows you time with words, using LED-strips and a well made box with laser-cut letters.
- TEAM 6 : RGB Light Rig (Jeroen, Thijs)
We are all used to Photoshop effects and after effects, but with this Light Rig, this team wanted to build a “pre-effects” installation, adding light effects before one takes his picture, changing the mood of a picture with real light.
- TEAM 7 : Moto Midimicidiale (Toon, Valerio )
We all start dancing to music, don’t we. How about reversing the process. Why not start dancing and let the music flow out of the moves you make, converting dance into music, using various sensors like : Wii nunchuck, ldr, potentiometers to capture the movement and gestures and convert them into midi signals.
- TEAM 8 : Position from sound waves(Erik)
Inspired by sound waves and positioning, Eric decided to make an installation that uses piezo elements for position sounds produced by ticking on a surface. A LED strips shows you, with real cool light effects, the linear position of the place where the sound was produced.
